High Speed Web Browser Cache In Mac OS X

OSXFAQ Reader Tip By Will

Experts point out that most users with high speed connections would be better off in several ways (speed, disk management, etc) if they did not download onto their hard drive (or even disk RAM) the cache from each site they browse. This can be easily done with most browsers by simply converting the designated cache folder or file into an alias. This doesn't seem to work with iCab (for me), but at least iCab will allow selection of a location and that can be a RAM disk (shareware available). Doing this avoids the disk management problems from ballooning cache in your System volume(?), taking space, fragmenting, and whatever. (BTW, Chimera likes to put its cache in: Users/NAME/Library/Chimera/Profiles/ANUMBER/Cache.) cruiser

Enjoy :-)
