OSXFAQ Reader Tips
The Scratchy Jaguar ??
OSXFAQ Reader Tip By Linda Duffy
I have a tip I would like to share. This is not an Mac OS X only tip, or even
a Mac only tip, but something handy that can help anyone who uses (or
like me, ABUSES) CD's. To remove scratches and possibly save a scuffed
disk, purchase a bottle of SWIRL MARK REMOVER from any automotive supply
store or the car section of your local Walmart. Apply a small amount and
then buff your CD with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth. This will save
your CD in many cases, but will not help for deep gouges. Be sure to
purchase the SWIRL MARK REMOVER for LIGHT CARS. My husband and I
actually own a professional CD buffer, and the manufacturer of the
buffing machine ships a bottle of this along with the equipment. Many
times by just using the SWIRL MARK REMOVER I don't have even bother with
the buffer. Plus, a bottle of this stuff is WAY cheaper than having to
buy yourself a new copy of Quark Xpress because you scratched the
install CD!
Hope you find this tip helpful.
Enjoy :-)
If you would like to see your tip here send it to us at contribute@osxfaq.com, You could be famous too!!
