New Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 for Macintosh Brings Pro Features to Digital Photo Hobbyists

New Generation of Advanced Image Editing Features Make Photoshop Elements 3.0 the Perfect Complement to iPhoto

Adobe Systems Incorporated announced Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 for Macintosh, a major upgrade to its must-have digital imaging software for photo hobbyists that makes it easier than ever to enhance images and dramatically transform photos. With the latest advanced editing tools, previously only available in Photoshop CS, Photoshop Elements 3.0 is the perfect companion to Apple's iPhoto, allowing aspiring photographers more creative control over their digital images for outstanding photographic results.

"A new set of powerful editing tools, such as the Healing Brush, makes this a milestone release for Photoshop Elements on the Mac," said Bryan Lamkin, senior vice president of Digital Imaging and Digital Video at Adobe. "For consumers who love iPhoto but want to advance to sophisticated image editing, Photoshop Elements 3.0 is the best choice, providing them with incredible creative control over their photos."

Adobe offers a complete family of Photoshop products that meet the needs of a diverse spectrum of digital photographers - from the casual snapshooter to the professional user.

Enhanced Editing Tools

Photoshop Elements 3.0 software provides consumers with one-click fixes, in addition to more sophisticated techniques when users require more advanced creative control. Updated editing tools instantly click away imperfections, transform photos with effects and filters, and correct color and lighting. With improved red eye removal, a simple click in the vicinity of the eye makes red-eye quickly disappear. Hit-features from Photoshop CS, including the powerful Healing Brush and the new Spot Healing Brush, fix blemishes and imperfections or even remove whole objects from photos with one click. Photoshop Elements 3.0 also supports Camera Raw functionality for the processing of raw data and 16-bit images for the brightest and most lifelike color.

"Photoshop Elements 3.0 is a great companion for our ground-breaking iPhoto software and delivers advanced editing capabilities that bring Photoshop's legendary quality into the hands of photo hobbyists," said Ron Okamoto, vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations at Apple. "The combination of iPhoto, Photoshop Elements and our stunning new iMac G5 delivers the ultimate home digital photo studio."

Search For and Share Digital Images

A new and improved file browser allows Photoshop Elements 3.0 customers to find their photos more quickly by searching for photos based on a wide range of criteria, including the date and time the photo was taken, the type of camera that was used and the name of the person who shot the photo. With Photoshop Elements 3.0 customers can share their photos with family and friends in a variety of ways, including stunning Adobe PDF slideshows with transitions. Users also can print out their work using custom print packages in the sizes and shapes they require, choosing from a wide variety of borders and frame templates.

Macworld Boston Moves to Hynes Convention Center

Hynes a better fit for Macworld Boston; close relationship with MCCA aids in transition

IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for technology markets, today announced that Macworld Conference & Expo in Boston will move to the Hynes Convention Center for its July 11-14, 2005 event. The event was previously held in the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC), but post-show analysis determined that the Hynes Convention Center is a more appropriate location and will provide an excellent customer experience for this particular event - based primarily on venue size.

"Macworld Boston 2004 worked very well, and we are forecasting another exciting and successful event in July 2005, but the move to the Hynes Convention Center will create a better overall experience for all who attend," said David Korse, president of IDG World Expo. "The BCEC is a beautiful state-of-the-art facility, and we are eager to use it again when we produce an event in Boston that is the appropriate scale for the venue."

IDG World Expo and the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) worked closely to ensure that this move would be mutually beneficial for both parties. This close cooperation underscores the good relationship shared by IDG World Expo and the MCCA - operator of both the BCEC and the Hynes Convention Center.

"We're happy that Macworld is in Boston, and we will work with IDG World Expo to make the event a continued success at the Hynes Convention Center," said James E. Rooney, MCCA executive director. "IDG World Expo is an important customer for us, and we want our customers to use the facility that most suits their needs. Macworld was our first show at the BCEC this summer, and we were proud of how well the event was executed. We look forward to working with IDG World Expo in both the Hynes and the BCEC in the future."

"Boston is currently the home to three exciting events produced by IDG World Expo - Macworld Conference & Expo, LinuxWorld Conference & Expo, and Bio*IT World Conference + Expo - and we're very pleased with our relationship and with the business they bring to the area," said Patrick Moscaritolo, president and CEO of the Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau.

"The move to the Hynes Convention Center will provide a more intimate setting for attendees and exhibitors - and this user experience is our most important consideration," said Warwick Davies, group vice president of Macworld Conference & Expo at IDG World Expo. "We had a successful event in 2004, and we will continue to invest resources to make Macworld Conference & Expo the world's most comprehensive Macintosh OS event."

Running continuously for over 20 years, Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco will take place January 10-14, 2005 at The Moscone Center. For more information or to register for the event, please visit...
