Inside Mac - October 11th 2003This Weeks GuestsScott E. Jordan - CEO and President - SCOTTeVEST
I'm Scott Jordan, and I created the SCOTTeVEST to solve a very basic problem -- probably one you're familiar with: I couldn't carry all of my electronic gadgets. All too often, juggling my Palm and its accessories, a cell phone, an MP3 player, the remote for my car, a digital camera, the newspaper, and everything else I needed, was a losing battle. Today's clothes simply aren't designed to hold this much stuff, or all of the cords for headphones/earbuds/adapters, etc. that go along with today's electronic gear. Before long, you need a suitcase just to carry your gadgets, and that defeats the purpose of being truly mobile. Version Three.0 Finetex Although I tried, I could not find ANYTHING on the market that was fashionable, functional and affordable. Then, the idea of the SCOTTeVEST and the TECHNOLOGY ENABLED CLOTHING(R) system came to me. At first, I wanted to create a fashionable, lightweight garment to carry electronic gadgets. I quickly realized that carrying the gadgets was only part of the problem--I also needed to use them. The difficult part was finding a way to use the gadgets while on the go. If you've ever tried to plug a hands-free headset into both a cell phone and your ear before the caller gets sent to voicemail - while you're driving - you know what I'm talking about! An expert design team helped me find a solution to this problem. We iIncorporated conduits throughout the interior of a garment, allowing you to connect your electronic devices to your headset/earbuds and each other (e.g., link a PDA to a cell phone). In the SCOTTeVEST, we've cleverly hidden conduits in the interior of the eVEST using the patent pending TECHNOLOGY ENABLED CLOTHING system. The pockets are connected to each other, too. You can easily insert and remove wires or, if you want, leave them in the SCOTTeVEST. In effect, it's the first fully functional and affordable Personal Area Network. The SCOTTeVEST is lightweight and designed to be comfortable enough to wear all the time. It contains no electronic components or wires. The TECHNOLOGY ENABLED CLOTHING system is unique. It is so exceptional, that both U.S. and international patents are pending on the design and the utility thereof, and our lawyers assure us that they will be granted. Go ahead, listen to music, use your cell phone, and surf the Internet or retrieve your email, all while wearing the eVEST. Don't fumble for a ringing cell phone any longer. All you have to do is insert the earpiece (which is conveniently held in place near your neck) and press talk, take out your PDA and press retrieve, or start surfing the web. No more dangling wires! This is just the beginning of the Technology Enabled Clothing era. Please tell all your friends about the SCOTTeVEST! Thanks for visiting our site and for everyone who helped make us a success. Warmest Regards, Scott Jordan, Chairman & CEO http://www.scottevest.com/
