The Mac HERO !!Jack Gruber, 37, was raised on his family's farms in Ohio and Kentucky. Jack is a 1984 graduate from Franklin Monroe High School in Pitsburg, Ohio. Gruber received Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ohio University School of Visual Communications in 1989 graduating as the classes Outstanding Vis-Com Graduate. He also attended Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York and The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Gruber's first job as a newspaper photographer was working for the Greenville (Ohio) Daily Advocate when he was 16-years-old and a sophomore in high school. Jack has worked full time as a staff photographer since 1989 starting with the Flint (Michigan) Journal, the Detroit News and briefly with the Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Tennessee. Currently, Gruber is one of six staff photographers with USA TODAY, the nation's largest newspaper with a daily circulation of over 2 million readers . Winner of the national collegiate William Randolph Hearst Photojournalism Championship in 1989, Gruber has won various other national and state professional photojournalist honors including National Press Photographers Association Picture of the Year awards and Associated Press Pictures of the Year Awards. Most recently, Gruber was honored for his work covering the 2003 Iraq War by a committee of award winning photographers brought together by Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Eddie Adams and presented the Eddie Adams Workshop Tribute-Iraq Photographers: Kent Potter Award. Gruber has covered the past three Olympics and nearly all of the national college and professional sports championships along with coverage of national news events such as western wildfires, hurricanes, environmental issues in Alaska and Canada as well as documenting overseas conflicts in the West Bank and Israel, Afghanistan, India and various other countries in the Persian Gulf region. Gruber covered the 2003 Iraq War as an embedded journalist with the Army's 3rd Infantry Division's 3rd Battalion, 69th Armor Task Force. The "Speed and Power" armored M1A1 Tank and Bradley Fighting Vehicle task force was the lead fighting element which paved the way into Baghdad from Kuwait. Along for the ride with only two other journalists assigned to this front running task force, Gruber was the first journalist to cross the Euprates River riding with the 11th Engineer Battalion, Alpha Company who made the crossing in motorized rubber boats and rode with the 3-69AR Task Force inside the first Bradley to cross over the walls into the Saddam Hussein International Airport. Gregory Douglas has fifteen years of experience in the radio, television and computer- related areas. He was the Director of Network Operations for Personal Achievement Radio, which included responsibilities for the production, operation and distribution of the "PAR" format. As the primary individual in charge of the on-air sound for "PAR", Mr. Douglas interacted with the motivational authors, Nightingale-Conant, ABC Radio Networks, PAR O & O's and affiliates and the broadcast talent. He pioneered the transition to digital for the flagship PAR studios. In addition, Mr. Douglas was M.I.S. Manager for Douglas Broadcasting Inc. where he was responsible for the traffic and business computer functions as well as the computer networking of DBI/PAR radio outlets. Previously, he was the General Manager of DBI's Seattle operation and Station Manager at WBPS-AM in Boston. Also, Mr. Douglas has been involved in almost all areas of broadcasting, including traffic, business, engineering, production and sales.
