Dr. Mac's OS X Tip-of-the-Day 
Dr. Mac - Open multiple files from Open sheets

I seem to recall this tip working occasionally as long ago as OS 9, but
for some users, it's a revelation... The OS X open file dialog box
(actually, it's a "sheet" in OS X parlance, but I digress) lets you
select multiple files and open all of them at one time.
All you need is the Shift or Commmand key.
There are some provisos... First, it seems to work with most OS X
programs, but not with every OS 9 (classic) program. And second, even
with the delightful column view, all the files must be contained in the
same folder.
Still, it sure beats using the Open sheet a dozen times or more. If
you've not seen or noticed this nifty feature, go give it a try now.
It's a keeper.
