This is the first version of the popular Finder file attribute manipulation utility for Mac OS X. The product has been rewritten from scratch to take full advantage of Mac OS X's powerful Cocoa programming interface. This first version already includes the ability to change modification and creation dates, lock and unlock files and hide file extensions on a per file basis.

A Better Finder Attributes is a contextual menu plugin for the Macintosh Finder that allows users to change the file date and other attributes of Mac OS X files.

The tool allows both the modification and the creation date of a file to be adjusted. Moreover you can "lock" files so that they cannot be modified, renamed, moved or copied; and you can decide on a per-file basis whether its file extension (e.g. ".gif") is visible or not.

A Better Finder Attributes is the ideal companion for A Better Finder Rename, which allows users to rename multiple files quickly and effectively. In the same tool series, A Better Finder Creators & TypeS allows you to redefine file-to-application associations by setting the file's creator and type codes and A Better Finder Select lets you filter file selections in true UNIX fashion using a range of criteria.
