How do I activate SSL/HTTPS in the built-in Apache webserver?

I'm sure many people noticed that mod_ssl is included in the default Apache installation, though it's commented out. I tried activating it briefly, and of course got the "could not generate key" message. As soon as I track down the correct configuration sequence (well-documented on modssl.org as I recall), I'll try to get that puppy fired up...

How do I configure logging in the Apache webserver?

Note that the default Apache config only uses "common" logs by default...most webmasters that I know prefer the "combined" format. You might want to uncomment this line in /Library/WebServer/Configuration/apache.conf:

CustomLog "/Library/WebServer/Logs/apache_combined_log" combined

Are there any web logfile analyzers available?

See porting analog.
