OSXFAQ Mac OS X Design Tip-of-the-Day
Photoshop - Getting rid of that 01 square in the top left corner of your image window
Brought To You By Layers Magazine & National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP)
If you're one of the millions of Photoshop users who suffer from seeing
the number 01, followed by a little rectangular box, you're in
luck--there's a simple cure. But what brought this evil little nasty to
the top left corner of your screen in the first place? At some point,
you clicked on the Slice tool, or while working with another tool, you
pressed the letter "k" to briefly switch to the Slice tool. When you do
this (even once) it brings up the dreaded 01 thingy, because it thinks
you want to slice the image, and it's showing you the default slice. The
bad thing is--when you switch off the Slice tool, the slice stays
visible, which can, in turn, drive you insane. To get rid of it, go
under the View menu, under Show, and choose Slices to hide the slices
and bring sanity back to your world.
