OSXFAQ Mac OS X Tip-of-the-Day
Image Capture - Share Pictures
By Adrian Mayo - Editor - OSXFAQ
Image Capture can share you digital devices, such as a camera, to other
Macs on your local network using Rendezvous, or to any computer
anywhere with a browser.
Select Image Capture Preferences... then the Sharing tab. From here you
can elect to share your digital devices, and look for other shared devices.
Share via Rendezvous over the local network. In the client machine
start Image Capture and select the menu item Devices - Browse Shared
Devices... In theory it should work...
If Rendezvous does not work, or you wish to share with machines beyond
your local network, use a browser. Point the browser at your machine
(IP address or hostname) and port 5100. Remember, if you have Apple's
firewall on create a new port number 5100 and check it.
Enjoy !! :-)
